A Joyful Wednesday at Wisdom Wheel Vegetarian Gathering

Yesterday’s Wednesday gathering at Wisdom Wheel Vegetarian was especially vibrant and joyful, bringing together Dharma friends from different walks of life for an evening of learning, practice, and meaningful connection.

We began by reciting the Diamond Sutra, allowing its timeless wisdom to guide us toward greater clarity, compassion, and insight. As always, the collective chanting created a peaceful atmosphere that reminded us of the power of practicing together as a community.

We were also fortunate to welcome Brian, the founder of XMind, who generously shared his journey as an entrepreneur, his personal experiences studying and practicing Buddhism, and his thoughts on the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence. His reflections offered a unique perspective on balancing innovation, business, and spiritual cultivation in today’s fast-changing world.

Adding to the joy of the evening, we had the honour of hosting Dr. Zhang Yulin and her husband. Dr. Zhang, the former President of the International Virtuous Women Association, paid a special visit to our gathering, and we were grateful for the opportunity to spend time together in the Dharma.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the evening was witnessing Rongyue and Rongzhi formally take refuge in the Three Jewels—the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Taking refuge marks the beginning of a lifelong spiritual journey, and it was deeply inspiring for everyone present to share in this meaningful milestone.

The evening concluded with gratitude, joy, and a renewed sense of purpose. Gatherings like these remind us that the Dharma flourishes not only through study and practice but also through friendship, generosity, and the shared aspiration to benefit all beings.
